Let's get started

There has been a lot of talk about Francis Chan's book "Crazy Love". I believe there is a good reason! It is a real eye opener.

When someone asks you how your walk with God is going, how would you like your answer to be:

"I'm madly in love with God, I think about Him all day long!"

Here is a book that can take you a step or two closer to that reality.

Let's take a look at this book and see where God will take us.

  1. During our meeting I mentioned that the Crazy Love discussion was reminding me of Ted Dekker's book The Circle Trilogy, a Christian fantasy book I had recently read. In the book, the primary character, Thomas Hunter, finds himself living in two realities, one a normal life in the 21st Century USA, and one in what appears to be a pre-Fall community of people, who have no experience of sin and who are in love with God--whom they call Elyon. What we would call their "religion", they refer to as "the Great Romance."

In the Great Romance, Elyon is passionately in love with each of them, and the pattern of His love is:
    He Chooses
    He Pursues
    He Resuces
    He Woos
    He Protects
    And He Lavishes

Not altogether different from God's love for us and his interaction with us.

By the way, Henry and Beverly bought Crazy Love today and picked up copies for Anne and me that we will get from them tomorrow. We are off and running.
